Editorial Note

Reviewed for product accuracy by the Ultimate Wedding Game editorial team and updated when setup, pricing, or guest flow guidance changes.

Every question here is a “who is more likely” question, so it is answered with one of the two of you. That makes the list work for the shoe game, the newlywed game and a quiz where guests guess on their phones. Pick your options and the list updates as you go.

How the generator picks your questions

It draws from 146 questions written for weddings, showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and anniversaries, and builds the round the way a good host would.

  • It opens with your story. Two easy questions about how you met get the room on your side.
  • It mixes the moods. The questions rotate through the moods you picked, so no single flavor takes over the round.
  • It favors what you love. Questions about your shared interests move to the front of the line.
  • It fits the occasion. “Who will be first on the dance floor tonight?” only shows up for a reception; anniversary rounds look back instead of ahead.
  • It ends sweet. The last question is a warm one, so the round closes on a good moment.

Make the list yours

  • Swap what doesn’t fit. Tap the arrows next to a question and the next best match takes its place.
  • Add two or three insider questions. The trip that went wrong, the nickname nobody explains, the dog that chose one of you. These get the biggest laughs.
  • Test it on a friend. If they can’t guess a single answer, the question is too obscure for the room.

Three ways to play your list

  • The shoe game. Sit back to back, each holding one of your shoes and one of your partner’s, and raise the shoe of whoever the answer is. The rules and an MC script cover the details.
  • On paper. Copy the list into cards for the host, or use the printable pack.
  • With every guest. Guests scan a QR code, predict each answer on their phones, and the big screen reveals who knows you best. “Play these with your guests” starts that game with your list already in it.

Questions people ask

Is the wedding question generator free?

Yes. Generate, shuffle and copy as many lists as you like without an account. If you want guests to play along on their phones, the game costs $29 per wedding, and you can rehearse it for free first.

How many questions should we use?

Ten to fifteen. That runs about fifteen minutes at a reception or shower, which is long enough for big laughs and short enough that the room stays with you.

Do the questions work for the shoe game?

Yes. Every question is answered with one of the two of you, so the couple can raise a shoe, a paddle or a sign. The same list works for the newlywed game and for a quiz where guests guess on their phones.

Are the questions family-friendly?

All of them are written to be grandparent-safe. The cheeky ones are flirtatious at most; leave that mood out if you want a completely clean round.

Can we add our own questions?

Please do. The best rounds mix a generated list with two or three questions only your friends and family would get. In the game you can edit every question and add your own before the day.
